Dr. Scott Crain is the chief executive officer for VeriPrime™, a food safety system that provides prevention-based food quality and safety.
Dr. Crain brings more than 21 years of food production, auditing and verification experience from the “barnyard to the boardroom.” Most notably, he developed and patented information systems and marketing methods to track and protect the health of cattle.
Prior to leading VeriPrime™, Dr. Crain served as the executive vice president of eMerge Interactive where he worked with chief executives, food safety, purchasing, and quality management of many large retailers including McDonald’s and Burger King. He also has sought Wall Street funding to help raise more than $50 million in private placements. Dr. Crain was part of the team that took eMerge Interactive through an IPO that raised an additional $200 million.
In addition to his role at VeriPrime™, Dr. Crain owns a veterinary feed yard practice in Western Kansas providing health care to approximately one million head of cattle annually. He and his family manage a small ranch in western Kansas.
Dr Crain is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and College of Agriculture.
Hal W. McCoy,

Hal W. McCoy is the chief executive of Restaurant Management Company, a franchisee of YUM! Brands (YUM). Restaurant Management Co. owns and operates 185 restaurants including 150 Pizza Huts and 35 Kentucky Fried Chicken, Long John Silver's and A&W restaurants with $130 million in sales.
After three years with IBM in Wichita, he worked for Pizza Hut, Inc. from 1970 to 1974 where he was responsible for consumer research, market research, market planning and information systems. Mr. McCoy remains active in the day-to-day operations of the business, particularly in the areas of sales, marketing and consumer trends.
He has served on the advisory boards of both Long John Silver’s, Grandy’s and Pizza Hut and is regarded as one of the most successful franchise operators in these franchise systems. In alignment with his personal commitment to preventative food safety, Mr. McCoy also serves as a member of VeriPrime’s board of directors. Mr. McCoy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
David Farnum, DVM
Certification Director Agri Food Certification
Dr. David Farnum is the chief executive for Agri Food Certification. Agri Food Certification is the USDA accredited certifying body for certified traceable food.
He brings more than 18 years of experience working in production agriculture and information systems. His experience includes work in standards development, information technology, and pork industry business development. He served on the standards development team for the United States Animal Identification Program which led to development of the National Animal Identification System.
Prior to joining Agri Food Certification, Dr. Farnum served as the president for PigCHAMP, a leading provider of knowledge and information management systems for animal agriculture. Simultaneously, he served on the management team at Farms.com. Previously he served in business development and sales management roles for Purina Mills.
Dr Farnum is a graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and College of Agriculture. In addition, he has completed course work in quality management systems and system improvement at the Center for Continuous Quality Improvement.
